All Aboard the Birthday Train!

Boston turned 4 this year! Yep, you read that right, F-O-U-R FOUR! He has been invited to enough birthday parties that I figured I better step up my game and throw him one. He is big into trains, so we did a train themed birthday party. We held it at our community clubhouse, and we decorated the area with train tracks(made out of electrical tape, leading the kids to the different "stations") and brought in his train table and Geo Trax trains for the kids to play with as they arrived as well as during set-up for each activity. The trains were a hit and most of the kids were upset that they had to quit playing with them in order to start the next activity. Speaking of activities, we made chocolate trains, pin the smokestack to the engine, musical tracks, Red Light/Green Light, and read the story The Little Engine that Could. We crammed all of that in in 2 hours! And we had to eat cupcakes and open presents. It was a busy party, but I am pretty sure all of the kids went home happy. We invited all of his cousins that were his age, as well as a few neighborhood kids, there were a total of 10 kids plus the help of Ian, Grandma Talbot, and Grandma & Grandpa Williams. The party was a lot of fun, and I am excited to say that there will be more birthday parties in the future. :)
