CaUtIoN! Construction Party Zone Ahead!

Can't enter the Construction Zone without your hard hat or tool belt!

(The tool belt was used as the good bag, and they collected "tools" during the party).

   

The Crew! A bunch of hard workers, if you asked me!



Keeping busy until the rest of the crew arrives. The kids could build with Lego's or building blocks. Also, drive construction vehicles on the car mats. They all seemed happy with these, too bad I had to pull them away when the "real" party began!



First Game: "Excavating the rocks"

The Crew was divided into teams of two. Their first "tool" a sticky hand or "jack-hammer". Then the rocks(ping-pong balls) were placed in hula-hoops, and the Crew had to use their jack-hammers to excavate the land. The first team to remove all of the rocks wins. We played the game a couple of times.

Second Game: Building the tallest building using toothpicks and marshmallows. Since the foundation had been cleared, it was time to start the building. The Crew seemed to enjoy this activity, but the marshmallows weren't stiff enough to keep the building standing! The tool they got from this activity was their own measuring tape, in order to measure who had the tallest building!

Now only if the buildings would stand on their own!

The measuring tapes were a huge success though!

Game Three: Construction Site Clean-up!

The Crew put their construction hats on one side of the room. They were given five "nails" (golf tees), and had to toss their nails into their construction hat. As soon as they got all five nails in, they got to choose which inflatable hammer they wanted.

After working so hard, it was time for a "lunch break!"

Instead of cake and cupcakes, I decided to go with "dirt cups" (chocolate pudding with oreos and gummy worms.) Then I melted Almond Bark to use as "mud" and the kids dipped marshmallows, pretzels, and cream puffs. Then had blue Squeeze-its to drink!

 The Crew seemed to really enjoy it!

After the food, I read the story Good Night, Good Night Construction Site. It is a way cute story, and glad to have added it to our collection. Sorry didn't get a picture though, too busy reading. After the story, Boston opened up his presents! He got a lot of gifts, I just don't want to post ALL of those pictures.

Everyone seemed to have had a great time at the party. Boston had a few pouty moments, needs to get used to losing a few games now and then. ;) Glad that birthdays only happen once a year! Thanks to all of those that helped with the party, and the kids that got to come play!
